Yup, it's about the 2 largest search engine in the world!
So which is the best between the both? Google or Yahoo!? It depends on which angle u are looking from XD
But hey! What about msn? It doesn't really catch the search needs of users. But that's only my opinion. So what makes Google and Yahoo! so big?
Both Google and Yahoo! approach the users in different ways. If u were to see Yahoo's! homepage, u can see lots of links from checking e-mails, news and headlines to games and entertainment aside from the search function. Basically, it is the site where most users who not only want to search for something but also access to daily happenings.
Google's homepage on the other hand, is plain and simple. Images are kept in the simplest form which helps the loading of the site. There's nothing else much to do on the site but to use its impressive search engine, which what search engines' are primarily for. That makes u wonder, won't that makes Yahoo! sooo much better? How does Google survive then? Well, not everyone needs the functions available in Yahoo! and not to forget the time it needs to load.
It goes the same with cars. If I want a car which is fast but looks stunning at the same time (to fish the girls in other words), I would get myself an M3 or Audi or maybe a GT3. But if I'm someone who just wants a car which is fast and practical, I would go for a GT-R which goes as fast if not faster, and cost about twice as cheap!
In addition to that, both these search engines have great advertising programs for both advertisers and users. Google has its adsense while Yahoo! has its YPN (Yahoo! Publisher Network). That being said, I've heard more positive feedbacks from adsense users compared to YPN users. But that's just what I've heard. Not claiming any of the both being better than the other.
