The story is so damn lame from the beginning. Fak!
And the lameness continues till the end. Fak!
Except for the few joke lines which are real hilarous, the rest is just, Fak! Oh ya, girls were sweet too.

The action scenes for one is shitty. No impact, no style, just plain dumb fighting skills.
The conversations were so damn boring, they work better than sleeping pills.
So much for having big names like Eva Mendes and Samuel L Jackson.
At a glance, the movie's poster looked real convincing with the "from the creators of 300" and all those gimmicks.
All I see in the movie is some Zorro-wannabe tied on strings jumping fakely from buildings to buildings with its cat pet following him wherever he goes.
His superhero powers were even more lame. Aside from being able to regenerate quickly (real original), he also has the ability to seduce all the girls he bumped into in the movie. Even "death" who turns out to be a girl. Yeah. Wtf. Death is a girl. When he's about to die, this girl who or which is supposed to be death, comes and lure him to die.
All in all this movie is unwatchable and I give it two fingers up

You clearly did not read the comic books it's based upon huh? But ur grievances are legit, I guess.
I have complaints about the movie, but mostly in comparison to Will Eisner's groundbreaking series - the original Spirit does not have regenerative powers. And the point of the Octopus is that people never sees his face.
But I feel that the movie captured the noir camp feel of the comics pretty damn well.
My greatest respect for Frank Miller is not in his directorial works. He wrote and illustrated the original 300 graphic novel, and the iconic Batman: Year One which Batman Begins was roughly based on.
Yeah well, they could've make the movements and effects more realistic like the dark knight =\
